Sweetheart Cherry Hand Pies

Ingredients
- 2 pre-made pie doughs, thawed (if frozen)
- 1 cup frozen cherries (or any berry of choice)
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- ½ cup ricotta cheese
- 1 Tbsp butter, melted
- Melted chocolate for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat over to 375 F.
- Roll out pie dough. Fold each dough round in half and cut out two heart shapes to make a top and bottom crust. Repeat with other dough round until you have enough for four pies.
- Mix sugar with frozen cherries.
- Lay out four bottom heart-shaped doughs on baking sheet. Spoon ricotta cheese in the center followed by cherry mixture.
- Lay top doughs on top and pinch edges to seal then press edges with a fork. Brush tops with melted butter.
- Baker for 15-20 minutes or until hearts are golden brown. Baking time will depend on thickness of dough and your oven. Cool for 5 minutes then transfer to wire rack.
- Drizzle with melted chocolate if desired.
