Comfort food season is upon us and there’s nothing cozier than a skillet full of pork chops blanketed with caramelized apples and onions. If Fall were coming over for dinner, this is what you’d make.
Maple Apple Pork Chops

Serves: 4
Ingredients
- 2 cups Golden Delicious or Gravenstein apples, thinly sliced
- 1 Tbsp oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 4 boneless pork chops
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup vegetable broth
- ½ cup maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp mustard
- 2 Tbsp apple cider
- 2 Tbsp white wine
- 1 tsp fresh thyme
- 1 tsp fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Preheat a rimmed baking sheet in oven. Arrange apples in a single layer on sheet and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until apples are browned. Set aside.
- Heat oil in large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until caramelized; about 10 minutes. Remove onions from skillet and set aside.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper over pork and add to pan; cook for 3 minutes on each side. Remove pork from pan.
- Add remaining ingredients to pan, stirring with a whisk. Cook for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Place pork chops back into pan. Add apples, onions and spoon sauce over pork chops, turning to coat. Garnish with thyme.
